Jess was first introduced to yoga in acting school as a way to strengthen and stretch the body, but she really fell in love with yoga when she realized it gave her more peace in the mind. With regular practice, Jess felt more “in the flow”, enabling her to navigate life’s ups and downs with more ease and joy. Inspired by her studies at ISHTA Yoga in NYC, Jess is passionate about exploring how yoga can elevate us above the chaos of modern life. Her approach is individualistic - no one body is the same - and her hope is to guide her students to experience the mental clarity and inner peace that she has found. Ishta stands for the Integrated Sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda and she enjoys weaving these elements into her classes. Her classes explore both the physical and more subtle aspects of the body and include breathing techniques and meditation to help students experience the present moment. Jess is a 500 hour yoga instructor and she also holds certifications in Prenatal and Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
