Birth After Cesarean

Join others who have experienced a planned or unplanned surgical birth and who wish to learn ways to increase the possibility of giving birth vaginally for their next child. This class is a labor and birth "refresher" and appropriate if:
  • You wish to attempt a TOLAC (trial of labor after cesarean) to achieve a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean).
  • You are planning a repeat surgical birth.

We were able to successfully have a VBAC. I couldn’t be more thankful for your support. It was pretty quick, and I’m extremely happy with the outcome...the contractions hurt and 1h 9m of pushing was exhausting but it was totally worth it. The overall experience was even better than what I hope for,  and we were allowed to come home the next day..

Deanna was extremely supportive and very approachable to answer questions after the class. I would recommend her class to anyone I know who wants to try a VBAC.

I wanted to let you know that I had a successful VBAC last month! I wasn’t induced and it was hard, but I am so proud and excited to have given birth vaginally this time.
Thank you again for the VBAC class. It helped a lot with my anxiety and fears.

Laneya Davenport, October 2020

What you will learn

We will explore the reasons for and feelings about your previous surgical birth so that you can more easily move towards the successful birth of this child.  We will discuss a trial of labor and VBAC, as well as planned repeat surgical births. Discussion and practice will include care providers, where to give birth, doulas, stages of labor, comfort measures, personal advocacy, technology, family-centered cesarean,  and more.

Here's your opportunity to practice what you've forgotten, remember what you loved, and to discover all the options you have for your birth this time around.
