Tot Time is a one hour class packed with fun and frolic! Designed for toddlers aged 14-24 months and their caregivers, it is a bit like what your child will experience when they attend preschool.
Circle Time with music: Class begins with music and movement to get the energy going! A lively sing-along with the guitar for mommy and toddler to dance and sing to the beat! Use of a variety of musical instruments will be available as well as puppets to enhance the musical experience.
Free Play Time: Much like a Play-based preschool, different "stations" will be available around the room for toddlers to enjoy. Stations include different types of manipulatives, such as blocks, multiple-sized Legos, and puzzles that encourage small muscle coordination and parallel play. Toys at each station will vary from week to week.
Q & A: Although Tot Time does not feature a weekly parenting topic, there will be time for discussion and questions on an informal basis during free play time. The instructor is a parent educator and is eager to share helpful parenting tips.
Art: Art activities will be offered periodically including painting with water colors, play dough, use of glue sticks, chalk and water based markers.
Story time: The class will close with a circle gathering for story time. Sometimes more than one!
Bubbles: Bubbles are always a great way to transition and end the class on a high note!
