Class Description
-
Are you planning an unmedicated birth and wondering what can help you feel more comfortable during the process?
-
Or are you considering an epidural but would like to learn about other comfort options first — and how to stay active in labor before getting one?
Join our Comfort Measures Class to get informed and empowered!
You’ll learn practical ways to cope with the challenges of labor, and discover how you and your support team can help you feel more comfortable, relaxed, and calm throughout the experience.
Comfort Measures does not cover topics such as stages of labor or typical hospital protocols. Couples who are expecting their second or subsequent child may find this a useful class.
Meet the Instructor

Olga Maksin,
I’m passionate supporting women during pregnancy and childbirth. I’m a true believer in the capacity and ability of every mother to birth her children naturally and see birth as a right of passage. I am also working with my clients to help them achieve the best birth as they see it. I am well educated about the medical practices and common procedures and help couples make evidence based decisions about their care. I’m a mom of three kids all born in the Bay Area - two in a hospital setting and one at home, and I feel like my personal experience supplements well my professional knowledge and experience acquired supporting other families. In addition to my doula certification, I’m a certified KGH hypnobirthing teacher, a graduate of spinning babies workshops, a subscriber to evidence based birth and I incorporate all my knowledge in the care and support of the families I work with.
